Storyline:

In 1995, Ashwat Raina, an IAS officer from the Research and Analysis Wing, proposes a plan to the ministers to conduct a retaliatory nuclear test in response to China's recent missile tests. However, his idea is ridiculed, and PMO Secretary Suresh Yadav instructs him to keep his proposal brief. Ashwat submits a detailed plan along with a floppy disk containing crucial information, but Yadav presents only an incomplete version to the Prime Minister, disregarding the floppy.

The test is hastily attempted without Ashwat’s involvement. However, an American Lacrosse satellite detects the preparations, leading the United States to issue a stern warning against India's nuclear ambitions. Ashwat is made the scapegoat for the failure and loses his job.

Three years later, in 1998, following the swearing-in of a new Prime Minister, Ashwat is approached by Himanshu Shukla, the new PMO secretary, who questions him about the earlier failure. Ashwat reveals that the critical element — maintaining absolute secrecy — was compromised because the floppy was never reviewed. Impressed, Himanshu offers Ashwat a second chance.

Ashwat assembles a specialized team, selecting five top experts from BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), the Indian Army, ISA (Indian Space Agency), and IB (Intelligence Bureau). Together, they head to Pokhran to prepare for a new, covert nuclear test mission.
